Filed under: 5280 Denver News; Tagged as: admission fees, city recreation, denver colorado kids swim free, free admission, kids ages, recreation centers, swimming poolsDenver kids ages 17 and younger can use city recreation centers and swimming pools for free again this summer. The city also waived fees for youth last year but said it wasn’t able to do so this year until the health care organization Kaiser Permanente offered $150,000 to support the program.
Kaiser Permanente Colorado President Donna Lynne said the mission is to keep kids healthy and active.
The free admission will be available Saturday through Aug. 15. Fees for programs and activities that typically have an extra charge will continue.
Last year, admission fees were waived for youth from June 2 to Aug. 17, 2008. There were 214,740 visits by youth during that time, or about double the amount of visits in 2007.
Have fun swimming!!!
